Swirly bird dies Friendship with Trees and Flowers

Woo hoo we got to Friday again.... and a Bank Holiday weekend!! yippee!!

So I have 2 cards for you today, I have loved revisiting this bundle this week and I know that this bundle will be just a magical next year and crafters and designers will come up with 101 new ways to use them.

My first card is a simply but elegant friendship card.  I enjoy sending cards but love seeing people faces when they receive them and friendship and thank you cards are my favourites.  I have used the NEW in color Tranquil Tide for the tree.  You can see it is a very versatile green or blue, and I know I am going to love using this color.  The tree truck and little birds are punched from the Tree builder punch and this lovely punch is remaining in the new catalogue! The sentiment from this is from the Sheltering Tree stamp set and this too is carrying over :) woo hoo again!

My second card is for a very special friend who I know does not read my blog but I will be seeing for dinner on Thursday so will have the card in her hand when this is posted!  She is actually my old manager in my last job who retired last April and is now more busy then when she worked full time, however she always finds time for me and really is the best friend a person could wish for.

For this card I used Crumb Cake and the Dies from Swirly Scribbles and then stamps the flowers in 4 different colors Rose Red, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride.

As I was die cutting them I thought I would take a photo to show you a quick tip.  If you are cutting out a few flowers like this, make sure you place them both on the block together and then they will stamp in the same place each time, and then when it come to die cutting them, set them in place for the first cut and then stick them together.  They will then be in the correct place for each cut and save you time in having to reline them up each time.

I then used the NEW in-color Lemon Lime Twist for the leaves.... I love this color so much!! The sentiment for this card comes from an old favourite of mine again Suite Sentiments.

So I hope you have enjoyed this weeks card and the samples of using Swirly Bird Bundle. Just to remind you that you only have until 31st May to get these as a bundle, after that you will pay full price for both items..... I know what I would do!

Happy Stampin!

Swirly bird and Cool treats combo!

Hello!

Well this is a little extra post for you this week as I remembered that I used the Swirly Bird stamp set with the awesome Cool Treats Bundle in the last few weeks for my sisters birthday card, and as her birthday was at the weekend - I can now share this one too!

I saw this card HERE at Libby Stamps and knew that I wanted to CASE for my sister and LOVED the color.  Now orange is not a normal go to color for me.... I am a pink or purple girl normally, but I really wanted to recreate this lovely card.  Thank you Libby for the inspiration!

I used Peekaboo Peach, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip..... these colors even sound like an ice cream!

You can see that I used one of the swirls and the splash stamps (which were stamped off before using on the card for a lighter color) for the background and then made the lovely ice creams with the stamps and dies.  The sentiment is from the Cool Treats stamp set too with a couple of those enamel shapes to finish it off.

Hope you enjoyed my ice cream surprise and see you back tomorrow with 2 cards made with the dies from the bundle.

Swirly Bird Flowers

Good Morning all

So here is my card today showing the stamps in the swirly bird stamp set to make a flower scene.  I saw a card on Pinterest that I knew that I needed to CASE (see here) from another Sam!  Now the card I CASE'd was not made with Stampin' Up! products but I knew that our Swirly stamps would do the job perfectly!

I used Tempting Turquoise and Pear Pizzazz along with Basic Black.  Now the stamps that we have in the set don't make the flowers like you see them.... you have to do some secret colouring in black to get the swirls! and also the leaves have a little hand-drawn design added to make them swirly!

I think this would look amazing in many colours..... I am going to try Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst (when I get me hands on it!) next.

That cute sentiment is from Suite Sentiment Stamp set.

Thank you for dropping by and see you Friday
